Terms of Use

The terms for using Rampart VPN and the VPN service it connects to.

Effective date: 13 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are a contract between you and NOSEYBOARD LTD, a private limited company registered in Scotland under company number SC900910, with its registered office at 4 Weston Place, Prestwick, KA9 2ED, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). They cover the Rampart VPN app for iPhone (the “App”) and the VPN servers it connects to (together, the “Service”).

Your use of the App is also governed by our End User License Agreement. How we handle data is explained in our Privacy Policy. By downloading or using the App you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 16, or the higher minimum age that applies in your country for using online services without a parent’s consent.

3. What the Service does

The App creates an encrypted tunnel between your iPhone and one of our VPN servers, so the network you are on — for example public Wi-Fi or your mobile carrier — cannot read your traffic. Websites and apps you use see the address of our VPN server instead of yours.

A VPN protects your connection; it does not make you anonymous and does not protect you from everything. Sites you sign in to still know who you are, and a VPN does not remove malware or stop phishing.

The current version of the App is free to use, with no sign-up and no in-app purchases. Some features or server locations may be offered as a paid subscription in a later version; section 4 then applies.

Where a version of the App offers a subscription:

  • Store billing. Subscriptions are bought through the App Store and billed by Apple under its own terms. We never receive your payment card details.
  • Prices. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the App before you confirm. Prices can differ by country and may include taxes.
  • Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. The renewal is charged to your Apple Account within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Free trials. When a free trial ends, the subscription starts at the regular price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Cancelling. Manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
  • Refunds. Apple decides refund requests under its own policies; we cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves, but we are glad to help with a request.
  • Consumer rights. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you may have a right to cancel within 14 days; for App Store purchases it is exercised through Apple’s procedures. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

5. Fair and lawful use

You may use the Service only for personal, lawful purposes. You must not use it to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights, including copyright;
  • send spam, or distribute malware;
  • attack, scan, probe or break into other systems or networks;
  • harass, threaten or defraud anyone, or share content that exploits children;
  • overload the Service, interfere with other users’ connections, or try to bypass its limits;
  • resell access to the Service, or run it for others as a commercial service.

To keep the Service fast and fair for everyone, we may apply reasonable limits — for example on speed, data volume or the number of devices. Using a VPN is restricted in some countries; you are responsible for following the laws of the place where you use the App.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available, but we cannot promise that it will be uninterrupted or that it will work on every network: maintenance, updates, network blocks and events outside our control can interrupt it. We may add, change or remove features and server locations.

7. Intellectual property

The App and the Service — their software, design, text, names and logos — belong to NOSEYBOARD LTD or our licensors. The App also includes open-source components, which are provided under their own licences. We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these terms or the End User License Agreement.

8. Warranties

We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and beyond the guarantees the law gives you, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that digital content is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

9. Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Apart from that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses (such as lost profits, revenue, contracts or business data), or for events beyond our reasonable control. Within the same exceptions, our total liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim and GBP 100.

10. Suspension and ending

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or end access for a device that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, where the law requires it, or to protect the Service or other users — with notice where that is reasonable. Sections 7 to 9 and 12 continue to apply after access ends.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the Service or the law changes. The current version is always on this page with its effective date. For material changes we will give notice in advance, for example inside the App. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, the updated terms apply; if you do not agree with them, you can stop using the Service.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them. If you are a consumer living in England and Wales or in Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts; if you live in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings in its courts. Please contact us first — most problems are solved quickly by email.
